Chiropractic Adjustments
A chiropractic adjustment is a treatment method utilized by chiropractors to restore function to joints that have become misaligned or fixated enough to irritate nearby nerves and soft tissues. Chiropractic adjustments may be administered to joints of the spine or the extremities. Often, a chiropractic adjustment involves a quick, specific force being applied to a dysfunctional joint by a chiropractor’s hands; however, there are many other methods a chiropractor can use such as an adjusting device called an Activator, a drop table, a flexion-distraction table, and pelvic blocks. Regardless of the technique, the goal of a chiropractic adjustment is to keep the body functioning at its highest level.
Soft Tissue therapy
Soft tissue therapy is a manual therapy that uses either the hands or hand-guided instruments to treat injured or dysfunctional tissues. Soft tissue therapies can help lengthen fascia, break up scar tissue, and relax tight or spastic muscles. This helps reduce pain and improve range of motion. Other benefits of soft tissue therapy include stimulating the nervous system and promoting healthy blood flow to the tissues being worked on so they can heal properly. At Salazar Chiropractic, we utilize many soft tissue techniques including myofascial release, trigger point therapy, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF stretching), and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM).
Therapeutic Exercises
Therapeutic exercises are specific exercises designed to aid in either the rehabilitation of an injury or the correcting of an irregularity in the body that is causing pain or dysfunction. These exercises target specific regions and are frequently prescribed to improve and maintain strength, endurance, stability, mobility, balance, and proprioception. Many of these exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home. These exercises enhance the overall effectiveness of your chiropractic treatment plan and may play a pivotal role in preventing the reoccurrence of symptoms if they are continued into the “Wellness” phase of care and beyond.
Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology tape can improve posture and biomechanics by providing neurosensory feedback to the brain. It can also interfere with pain signals, normalize muscle tone, and reduce bruising and swelling.
Lifestyle Advice
In addition to addressing each patient’s physical complaints and current healthcare needs, we often find it helpful to coach our patients towards achieving a healthier, more active lifestyle. This includes providing activity recommendations and giving advice on nutrition, ergonomics, and stress management.
Back Pain
Chronic back pain is one of the biggest problems Americans face today and affects eight out of ten people at some point in their lives. Even though back pain is common, the level of severity varies. A variety of different conditions are responsible for discomfort in different regions of your back. These include sprained ligaments, strained muscles, trigger points, arthritis, ruptured disks, inflamed joints, sport injuries, and many more. We will locate the source and do everything we can to ease the uncomfortable pain you may be experiencing.
Auto Accidents
An auto accident has the ability to tweak your neck, your spine, or even force your entire body out of proper alignment. Our trained professionals are ready to locate the source of each issue and prescribe the necessary adjustments and corrective exercises as they see fit. Our goal is to have you feeling like yourself again in no time.
These are just some of the services that we provide here at Salazar Chiropractic. We love providing our patients with an enjoyable and pain-free life, so don’t hesitate to stop on by!
